KALEIDOSCOPE: The Art of Becoming and the Energy of Being
Gallery 2112 proudly presents Kaleidoscope, a solo exhibition of paintings by artist, Padme. Kaleidoscope is a celebration of 'art from the heart '; a visual reminder that even through all the chaos in the world, there is still a sacred pattern to be found.
Through vibrant palettes, textures, and intuitive painting, Kaleidoscope invites the viewer to step inside another realm. Using the fluid nature of acrylics, resin, and mixed media, Padme creates layers of depth that mimic the multidimensionality of the soul.
The works in this collection combine two distinct yet interconnected series: Gulugufe and Vortex.
In the Gulugufe paintings, one enters a metamorphosis, inspired by a kaleidoscope of butterflies. These works capture the delicate moments of transition and the soul’s resilience to flow. They are reflections of transformation, emergence, and the beauty of evolution. It is the art of becoming.
In the Vortex paintings, one enters the raw, spiraling energy of the universe, the "source" from which all things are drawn and expelled. The same force that brings us inward toward self-discovery, propels us outward into the unknown. It is the art of being.
By bringing these two series together, the paintings form a living kaleidoscope: fragmented yet unified, chaotic yet harmonious, constantly shifting with perception. Each painting acts as both mirror and portal. It is the remembering that we are simultaneously the fragile butterfly and the powerful engine of the storm.
Padme is a multidisciplinary artist, yogini, and healing arts guide whose work serves as a bridge between the physical and spiritual. Her practice explores the intersection of cosmic energy and the human spirit through meditative and intuitive arts. Raised as a global nomad in international schools, her creative output is a reflection of a life lived in constant motion. After serving in the Peace Corps in Malawi and Ethiopia, she facilitated State Department exchange programs in Washington DC. But it was the spiritual path through yoga that led her to the Himalayas in India, where she immersed herself in meditation and mantra, and received her name, "in the lotus”. As a traveling artist and spiritual practitioner, she now leads Healing Arts workshops that combine sacred painting with chanting, while distributing visual tools for meditation in her series Sacred Geometry. Padme has shared her art at various forums including Jackson Square, Frenchman Art Bazaar, New Orleans Yoga Festival, Fort Lauderdale Yoga Festival, Miami Super Fine Art Fair, Old Town Alexandria Art Festival, Bhakti Yoga DC, Wild Lotus Yoga, Shakti House, Townsend Atelier in Tennessee, Yogaville in VA, and Sivananda Ashram in the Bahamas.
